307cc Steering Position Sensor Calibration

The Steering Position Sensor (also know as the Steering Angle Sensor) on the Peugeot 307cc is used to provide vital steering angle information to the ESP (Enhanced Stability Program).  Any servicing of Suspension, Steering or Brake parts may require a re-calibration of the steering angle sensor to prevent an ESP fault shortly after setting off.

To re-calibrate the Steering Position Sensor follow the steps below:

1.  Sit in the drivers seat and close all doors etc.

2.  Turn the IGN on but do NOT start the engine.

3.  Turn the steering wheel as far as it will go to the right.

4.  Turn the steering wheel as far is it will go to the left.

5.  Repeat steps 3 and 4 one more time, with the end result being the steering has been turned lock to lock twice.

6.  Return steering to central position.

7.  Turn off IGN and remove key.

The Steering Position Sensor has now been re-calibrated.

NOTES:

During the calibration procedure above, the steering will be very heavy and require much more effort to turn.  This is normal due to the lack of assistance of the power steering system.

Peugeot 307 WRC

Peugeot 307 WRC is a rally car which competed in the World Rally Championship for only two seasons (2004, 2005) as a factory entry, scoring three WRC wins. The rally version of the Peugeot 307 CC was extensively modified. A retractable hard top has been welded and fixed, to accommodate a safety roll cage inside a car. The 2.0-litre 4-cylinder turbo engine, which produced 180 hp in a road-legal car, was pumped up to 300 hp.
